MAP-PAK 2

Modified Atmosphere Packaging Gas Analyzer

The AGC MAP-PAK2 is a portable gas analyzer designed for fast and reliable quality control of gas-flushed food packaging

It measures the gas composition inside Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP), helping food manufacturers verify that the required gas atmosphere has been achieved and maintained throughout the packaging process.

The MAP-PAK2 range is available in two configurations:

  • MAP-PAK2 COMBI – O₂ + CO₂ measurement with N₂ shown as the balance gas
  • MAP-PAK2 O₂ – O₂ measurement

The analyzer is suitable for a wide range of food packaging applications including meat, poultry, seafood, dairy products, cheese, fruits, vegetables, snacks and convenience foods.

Fast, Accurate Headspace Gas Analysis for Modified Atmosphere Packaging

The AGC MAP-PAK2 is a portable gas analyzer designed for quality control and verification of gas-flushed food packaging. It provides fast measurement of Oxygen (O₂) and Carbon Dioxide (CO₂), with Nitrogen (N₂) displayed as a balance gas on the COMBI model.

Why choose MAPPAK2

Maintaining the correct gas composition inside a food package is an important part of Modified Atmosphere Packaging quality control.

MAP-PAK2 allows operators to check the gas composition directly from the package and quickly identify whether the measured atmosphere is within the required limits.

Fast Measurement

Obtain O₂ and CO₂ measurements within seconds and perform quality checks directly on the production floor.

Portable & Lightweight

The compact design allows the analyzer to be easily transported and used at different locations throughout the production facility.

Simple Operation

A colour touchscreen interface and straightforward sampling procedure make routine measurements easy to perform.

Programmable PASS / FAIL Limits

Set high and low alarm limits for O₂ and CO₂ for individual product profiles and quickly identify results outside the required specification.

Large Measurement Storage

Store more than 10,000 measurements internally for quality-control records and traceability.

Easy Data Export

Transfer measurement results directly to a computer as a CSV/Excel file via USB without requiring additional software.

Multiple Sample Volumes

Choose from low, medium or high sample-volume settings to suit different package sizes and applications.

Calibration & Sensor Protection

MAP-PAK2 is designed for routine industrial use and incorporates filtration and calibration features to help protect the analyzer and maintain measurement performance.

The sampling system includes a hydrophobic filter and internal filtration to protect the sensor array and pump.

An ambient calibration function is available for routine customer checks, while annual calibration is recommended.

The O₂ sensor has a typical lifetime of approximately two years, depending on application and Oxygen exposure.

What is MAP?

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is MAP-PAK2?

MAP-PAK2 is a portable gas analyzer designed to measure gas composition inside Modified Atmosphere Packaging.

What gases can MAP-PAK2 measure?

The MAP-PAK2 COMBI measures O₂ and CO₂, while N₂ is displayed as a balance gas. The MAP-PAK2 O₂ measures Oxygen only.

Can MAP-PAK2 be used for meat and poultry?

Yes. AGC specifically lists meat and poultry among the food packaging applications for the MAP-PAK2 range.

Can MAP-PAK2 measure CO₂ and O₂ simultaneously?

Yes. The COMBI model measures O₂ and CO₂ from the same package sample.

How much gas is required for a measurement?

The analyzer provides three selectable sample-volume settings: 6 ml, 30 ml and 50 ml.

Can measurement results be exported to Excel?

Yes. Results can be downloaded via USB as CSV files that can be opened in Excel, without requiring additional software.

Does MAP-PAK2 have a PASS/FAIL function?

Yes. High and low alarm limits can be configured for O₂ and CO₂ for individual product profiles.

How often should MAP-PAK2 be calibrated?

Annual calibration is recommended. An ambient calibration function is also available for routine customer checks.

Is a thermal printer available?

Yes. An optional Bluetooth® thermal printer is available for printing measurement results on site.
